In this monthly blog post, the North Star team will be sharing music that we have been jamming out to this month. We hope you'll find a new tune, rediscover an old one, and maybe share some of your own. We can't wait to hear your thoughts!

“Seven Years” by Yebba
The song I've been listening to a lot is "Seven Years" by Yebba - I listen when I'm in a rainy mood, driving, or most recently, assembling furniture late at night. I'm obsessed with the vocal run on the line "comparing my age," and love how the lyrics leave room for you to find your own meaning in them. Other songs from this album I love include "Forgiveness," "Alright," and "West Memphis".

Autumn, Music Therapist and Intake Coordinator
“Always” by Tiana Major9 ft. Yebba
This is a song that is perfect for a drive home when you just need to be consumed and held by music. “Always” is about feeling like you made mistakes in a relationship and wishing that things could go back to the way they were. While it’s a sad song, I’m having so much fun singing along at the top of my lungs.

Maria, Virtual Music Therapist
“BAILE INoLVIDABLE” by Bad Bunny
Like everyone else, I’ve been hooked on Bad Bunny’s new album since his Superbowl LX halftime show performance. Bad Bunny’s music, and his latest album in particular DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, is filled with so much hope, joy, and resilience that I find inspiring. I love this song because it reminds me to practice gratitude, find pockets of joy, and dance amidst the chaos.
