What Happens in a Music Therapy Session? 

  • Your therapist will listen to you, ask clarifying questions, and determine any new need areas and checkin on your progress.

  • Music activities, designed to address your child's goals and needs. These may include but are not limited to: 

    • Music making, such as singing and playing instruments (no experience required) ​

    • Sharing and listening to favorite songs

    • Discussing lyrics and artists 

    • Creating themed playlists to support coping skills, sleep, or other need areas. 

    • Songwriting and beat making

    • Music and creative arts experiences (art, journaling) 

    • Music and movement experiences (yoga, dance) 

    • Relaxation and mindfulness exercises 

  • ​We make a plan for how you and your child can take action between sessions to make progress toward goals.
