Virtual Music Therapist 

Maria Alvarado is an Ecuadorian-American music therapist from Los Angeles, CA. Maria's practice is rooted in building a trusting relationship based in authenticity, vulnerability, and mutual respect. Maria is passionate about using all types of music as a vessel for positive growth and self-exploration.

Maria graduated cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a bachelor's degree in music therapy and a minor in psychology. Since then, Maria has gained experience working with people in all stages of life. From pre-mature infants in intensive care, to children and adolescents in in-patient mental health, to adults with developmental disabilities in a day program setting. Currently, Maria provides music therapy sessions for children/adolescents in an in-patient mental health setting as well as via telehealth at North Star Therapy.
