Music Therapy Student
WHY I'M STUDYING MUSIC THERAPY:
I fell in love with music at a very young age, and always knew I wanted to be a professional musician. I struggled with an eating disorder and anxiety as a teenager, and attended group music therapy during my treatment. Music therapy has healed me in so many different ways, and now I want to share the gift with others!
WHAT I'M REALLY GOOD AT:
Singing, playing piano, and empathizing/validating people's emotions. I also make a mean vegan grilled cheese sandwich.
MUSIC I LIKE:
I grew up listening to the music my parents love. My favorite bands are Queen and the Beatles, but I listen to all kinds of music. My Spotify is filled with Van Halen, Hall and Oates, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, KISS, Elvis, Van Morrison, Vivaldi, Chopin, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Nirvana, The Smiths, and of course, Beyonce.
ME, AS A PERSON:
When I'm not busy with school work, you can find me volunteering at Dallas Animal Services. Come find me if you're looking for a fur baby to join your family! I've also been known to frequent Spiral Diner for a veggie burger with friends. My favorite thing to do on weekends is get dressed up for an opera or musical at the Winspear, or the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the Meyerson!
Currently an SMU student, looking to graduate December 2020 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy.
